there is a lot of good house around again but much of it is new derivatives of the 1980s styles and with the soul / US gospel influences. its popular in my town as its the only faster BPM music most local venues tolerate, as there is zero tolerance on pills and other drugs in all the licensed venues (the managers get sacked and there are 20 other young people waiting to take that job). so the punters do not actually do many drugs here, they are all only drinking in moderation so they can keep fit and do wholesome things like getting up at 6am to do gardening, look after stray cats/dogs, building and construction work etc…
because of this I’d far rather listen to this music at home than have to pay an entry charge to some venue what looks like a 1980s wine bar but with pastel LED everywhere… if people want to go to these places fair enough as long as they behave themselves and don’t cost me extra in council tax but not for me..
