Decided to treat myself to a new pair of headphones for mixing as my current set are ancient and with a broken cable I repaired and I was due some expenses paid back from work so can add things to the CPC order, and wanted a proper “DJ” type (these didn’t exist when I started 20 years ago!)
For £20 here in UK and about €25 in mainland Europe, these are impressive. Be aware that they are big (but if you are now a digital DJ then there is no vinyl/CD to carry around as well)
Very much like old skool German cans in appearance – it took me a while to work out how to use the rotating earcup (its not quite a swivel one but means you can use the left earphone only, whilst still using the padded band and speaker surroundings). And so they can stay on my head, not end up on a keyboard which is going to trigger something unwanted on the sound, or worse a random place that a old dinosaurus like me forgets whilst in the middle of mixing.
They however have modern features there are new features like a 3.5mm socket on the headphones and not fixed lead (so if the lead eventually becomes kaputt you need only replace that without soldering tinsel wire (a fiddly and unpleasant job), and a screw on 6.35mm adaptor so if your other kit uses the big type socket the adaptor doesn’t go missing.
They are very sensitive – on my work desktop PC (not a AV optimised machine, these cans show up how bad the hiss is on the internal soundcard).
I have to turn down the VLC player volume loads, or it is way too strong for my ears!

(cheapest I found as German places sell them for €40, a bit excessive IMO (taxes?))
