So I bought 20 boxes of vinyls on eBay

Gonna collect them to-morrow afternoon but I’m wondering how the fuck I’m going to bring them back. I’m taking a giant bag that I’ve used whenever I’ve moved country but I’m not sure it’ll be enough.

Anyone have any solutions to my conundrum?

Obvious question, but how big are the boxes? If you’ve bought 20 crates you’re gonna need a van or big car!

Where can I get a van? I don’t know too much about this kind of stuff. Mind you it has to be as cheap as possible since I’m on a low budget and I primarily bought this because the seller has no clue how much any of the records are worth so if I sell all the ones I don’t want I’ll make a nice profit.

Nice buy! Fuck handballing all that back to wherever you live though – it will weigh a ton! U not got a mate with a car? Give him a load of vinyl as payment. Or hire a van/car from Europcar/Hertz/somewhere local if you’re old enough.

mate with car, bung em a few quid for petrol, or taxi – people carrier type size? as hiring a van is a load of hassle!! insurance deposit etc

I’m not legally allowed to drive sadly (I have to fucking sort that out soon). I’ll try and get a mate with a car or if worst comes to worst I’ll just grab as many as I can with my cases and then go back for the rest of them later.

Not very far as I can take a bus and the tube with my cases. If it’s 300 vinyls it’ll be about 60 kg and if it’s 500 about 75-100 kg so it should be too bad. I’m considering just doing multiple trips since I’m only one man.

Looks like more than 1000 records in that pile. Dunno what that weighs but just from my own limited experience of carrying record boxes that looks like an absolute mission to take on the tube.

No idear really. He just sold it as one big chunk not knowing what’s in there. I reckon there must be some gems in there though.

Records may look light on there own but they soon add up … that’ll be over 10/15 trips on your own carrying them in a bag I recon, and even then you gonna be lifting very heavy amounts of records each time. That looks like over 1000 deffo .. I’d even say possibly 2000! I’ve got like 600-800 tunes iirc … about 800-1000 with my mates tunes when I had them at my place .. and there was no where near as many as in that pic! Don’t forget it’s not just the vinyls that weigh as well … there’s a fuck load of cases what all add weight.

That’s a van jobby or a big car. Can’t you ask someone you know who drives?

i have a few boxes of vinyls under my stairs. one of the boxes has about 30-70 in and it’s a fucking MISSION picking that up. trying to transport too much in a bag could result in you smashing up a lot of vinyl and bumping into people/hurting them at the same time i’d reckon!

Yeah you could hurt your self as well trying to force yourself to carry more then you should to get it done quicker.

Well I managed it. Got a man in a van service to bring them all back. Now I have to pick out all the ones worth keeping and all the ones I wanna sell. There’s Rick Astley in there! Hahahaha
