Rightttt here is a bunch of questions… Anyone care to answer them? 😀
-1- Single ticket: I assume this refers to a journey one-way without a return?
-2- Can I use a return ticket on the way ‘from’ without going on the way ‘to’ journey? As it appears to be cheaper.
-3- If I book I ticket from x to y, does this include (in the price) traveling via the tube/underground if it is required?😛 thank you =D

2)yes, the return will come in 2 parts
3)if you are unable to get to your destination because of a rail issue, for example, i used to do bristol to scunthorpe regulary (dont ask!) and allways on a sunday engineering works would be taking place, so the rail company must lay on additional transport to get you to your destination, on many occasion this would take the form of a taxi! to the tune of 170quid! or a coach etc but they have a duty of care to get you to your agreed destination, thats said if you require aditional transport like the use of the tube etc, then youll need to state that at the time fo purchase and they’ll give you another ticket for your tube stuffshope that makes sense mate, failing that bump the lot plead ignorance and insist your a tourist!

Thank you man! I didn’t quite understand the third part with the ‘lay on additional transport’ and ‘youll need to state that at the time fo purchase and they’ll give you another ticket for your tube stuffs’. Will I pay for another ticket for the tube stuffss?

December 9, 2011 at 9:11 am #1247494in normal circumstances you’ll pay for the underground … but if for example you are traveling from bristol to liverpool street but the trains from bristol only goto london victoria then i think your ticket will be valid on the underground (if you stated when buying it that you wanted to travell to liverpool street they will charge the extra there i think).
If however you buy a ticket just to victoria then you’ll have to buy another one for the underground.
I would double check when buying your tickets tho as I’ve not got a train for sometime (and my nearest station is an underground one so i very very rarely will get an overground then travel on the underground and you can’t buy mainline tickets at alot of underground stations.
December 9, 2011 at 5:35 pm #1247491For sure some train tickets will include a tube journey if that’s the route you’ve chosen. E.g. if you buy Leeds to Guildford you have to go across London to get to Waterloo, the paper ticket will allow you to go from Kings X to Waterloo on the tube (but if you try to get off at any other stop it doesn’t let you). If you’re buying online it should be pretty obvious whether there’s a tube journey included in the ticket.

I think everyone’s dodged fares before but that kid got busted then held the whole train up for 10 mins while he threw a swearing hissy fit at the conductor. He was being an arsehole and someone booted him off. Good riddance. The other passengers seem glad enough to see the back of him.
I think this sort of behaviour surprises people from the south – even where I’m from in Yorkshire people seem more likely to say something when someone’s acting out of turn in public rather than sit there and wait for the authorities to deal with it – there’s loads of comments on youtube from people saying the kid was the victim and the man is just a big bully (as well as the usual daily-mail crowd saying the enquiry is ‘political correctness gone mad’).
