August 15, 2011 at 2:38 pm #1243214Cinco familia, one love.
August 15, 2011 at 2:44 pm #1243213I have seven sisters and one brother, and none of us really get on, my mother and eldest sister have always disliked each other
August 15, 2011 at 3:03 pm #1243211My family is fucking tight, we’d never survive without each other.
August 15, 2011 at 3:49 pm #1243201I love my family from a distance, it best that way, its not that I do not care about them, I really do care, but I have made some choices for my life that do not fit in their reality, so to avoid the conflict I stay off and only visit them once a year or so….
August 15, 2011 at 4:12 pm #1243216I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and only speak to my youngest 2 siblings. I’m close to my Mum but nobody else in my family, don’t see cousins, aunts, grandparents, even my own dad. Bit sad really but I have friends who are my family and have been much more supportive. However, I’m extremely close to my 3 daughters and they are very close to one another also and I’d die without them. They are all I need in life.
August 15, 2011 at 5:12 pm #1243198Anonymousi love them all so much <3 i'm even close to my great grand parents. my mum and dad aren't together but we still all manage to gel together and it's nice, i can't imagine what life without them would be like. especially my little brother who is the most special person in the entire world.

August 16, 2011 at 5:49 pm #1243207If this partner of my dad is considered family then families can go to fucking hell and they are of no importance whatsoever. fml!! can’t wait for this awfu week to end, people are CUNTSSSSSSSSSS
August 16, 2011 at 5:54 pm #1243202August 16, 2011 at 10:18 pm #1243210immediate family are important i guess, not really bothered bout the rest.
I should make more of an effort with my immediate family, putting my mates first too often.
August 17, 2011 at 1:13 pm #1243215I have not seen my “family” since I was 18 and I am now 38. The last time was when the bitch from hell (mother) came raging at me one last time with her fists. I held her hands at arms length and told her that she was never to touch me again. I packed my bags and left and that was that. (I was home at xmas from my first year at uni)
Never heard or saw my family again. My father was never home and never believed the abuse from my mother. I am still in contact with my grandmother and an aunty and uncle who were like my parents.
I never realised that my family situation was fucked up and that other peoples parents were not like mine until I was well into my teens.
I am adopted by the way and my “mother” told me everyday for my whole life how she wished she never adopted me, how ugly I was, how much she hated me…Daily beatings, humiliation in public with screaming and shouting at me even if I was just standing there, well the list goes on.Needless to say was only in my mid 20s+ that I really began to leave the past in the past and live life in a happy and content way. Thank you counselling (saw a spiritual healer for a year. Helped in ways I cannot even begin to comment on)
Families, the fucked up dysfunctional ones have a lot to answer for!If you have a family that loves you, well you are very lucky indeed.

few things make me angrier than parents who don’t treat the children the way they should be treated.. it makes me so upset that they have responsibility for a life and don’t give it the care it deserves. i know a few kids who should have been taken by social services years ago and it makes me so upset and angry >:C its just not fair.

Wait that was “his” brother wasn’t it, not yours … sorry. :O
August 18, 2011 at 1:38 pm #1243208pretty important. i wouldnt be here without them at the end of the day. but as the old saying goes, you can choose your friends….
August 18, 2011 at 1:39 pm #1243209what would you choose between family and partying [username]?
August 18, 2011 at 1:51 pm #1243203Depends on the party. But if my family sez I have to choose them or party? I rule my world it is not up to them. But if I was 20 and live in their home, I would have to follow their rule or move out. Thats only fair….

August 18, 2011 at 2:19 pm #1243200Being British Asian family values are very important – but in my younger life I did have a lot of lifestyle disputes with my parents (these are resolved now). Also although I work for a family business I am given a lot of autonomy (basically I make the complicated things work, and am best left alone to do so) but I notice though it can be a love/hate thing sometimes – not unlike folk of Notrhern Europe and East Anglia!
