Who’s your favourite DJ/s of all time? Or Which ones do you rate
:weee:
July 27, 2011 at 12:55 pm #1242503my favoriate dj of all time is proberbly The Producer a true turntabilist who can play all styles his purist techno sets are a site to behold (anyone who went to st pauls will testify!) and of course hes made some of the moast influencial music on the dance scene evevererer! one of his 1st sets that i still have is him at universe with tanith – cracking!
when i was about 13/14 i went to see him and before we left we were all getting pissed and based up in the park (as you do!) and my mate said – “whatever happens make sure you see the producer, beats just roll of his fingertips!”
sure enough we go to the club and its about 3 am time to go see the producer so we get there barge our way to the front and sure enough hes mixing with NO headphones scratching in banging techno for an hour! i was gobsmacked!
since then ive tried to get to every gig hes played in england!
theres a producer deathchant record with the words “big shout out to john peel, the only man who will play my noise!” on the front of it! love that!
so yeah him! or……
Hellfish – the man pretty much invented a new style of music! hardcore techno hip hop! deathchant records is one of the most respected underground labels there is!
or maybe big jeff mills but he really has let him self go over recent years – proppa self indulgent rubbish!

July 30, 2011 at 4:58 am #1242501D.A.V.E. the Drummer is a producer btw… anyone can stick some tunes on 😉
July 30, 2011 at 8:03 am #1242495Dave the drummer or henry cullen witch is his real name is both a DJ and a producer just have a looksi here; D.A.V.E. The Drummer’s sounds on SoundCloud – Create, record and share your sounds for free
look at the bottom the page its 3 mixes for you….I listen to a lot to Elite Force these days. He remixes, make tunes and play dj sets, I like that. Also that he mixes stylies and make them sets quite variable
Look here; Elite Force’s sounds on SoundCloud – Create, record and share your sounds for free check out his own tunes, the remixes (or revamped) and his dj mix sets…. and he loves to break-dem-beats 🙂
July 30, 2011 at 12:24 pm #1242502Techno producers mostly play dj sets when they play out, I only saw him do a live PA once, it’s a shame really as techno is a genre that would lend itself really well to building up tracks live with loops.
DAVE the Drummer was responsible for a large chunk of the UK acid/techno output for several years under various names/collaborations including his own label Hydraulix, he’s arguably the most talented producer in the entire genre, the man is a legend. Saying he’s a good dj is like saying shakespere has nice handwriting.
