do you prefer the kind of party with one massive stack of the loudest best quality speakers banging out filthy music all night, or a few smaller rigs playing a more diverse selection with more effort put into decor and bars etc?
June 13, 2011 at 9:53 am #1240791I’d prefer a few smaller rigs TBH and better décor/bar – there is way too much willy waving over sound systems these days – yet ironically a lot of crews do so much K (which affects the hearing) and can’t be arsed to work out how to use their equipment properly so a lot of flashy rigs actually sound like shit.
Also having a safe and friendly atmosphere is paramount – there are now plenty of townie nightclubs with expensive sound systems so rave needs to offer something better IMO..

June 13, 2011 at 10:31 am #1240797yea definatly smallers rigs with a visually stunning atmosphere. unless its a really on it rig who know what they are doing… i went to a narkotek free party in italy back in ’07, was my first free party in europe and ive never been able to match such an amazing night. the stacks were high. the sounds were loud and crisp with a phat tekno punch. just thinking about it gets me moist.
June 13, 2011 at 10:44 am #1240794Defo Smaller parties –
and I like the ones I tend to go to in the midlands – generally older crowd who have known each other years, nice atmosphere, and as a bird, feel much safer
June 13, 2011 at 11:02 am #1240801Smaller rigs and lots more stuff I reckon, but one big rig can be awesome too. What I cba with is one little rig pumping out semi-good tunes whilst everyone there except me is totally out of it on K 🙁
June 13, 2011 at 11:34 am #1240795I like the mini free festival vibes with a few different rigs playing a variety of music with effort put into lighting and bars and other stuff. Big one rig parties are fun and gets the crowd on a hype, but there’s too much of an ego thing going on. I’m getting fed up of parties where it’s just about how many bass bins they can stack up with a couple of shitty mids on top, no lights + loads of k and nos canisters. It’s all about crews coming together and creativity and diversity
June 13, 2011 at 11:58 am #1240799I prefer a ‘gathering’ as opposed to a party, not one for crowded places or overly loud music either……come to think of it…..I’m getting more dull and drab as i age AAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

^^ this was a a wicked little psytrance gathering for my mates birthday. no trouble AT ALL and we parties for nearly 48 hours.
^^ this one was more of a private traveller party with some really good music from local brighton producers. although it didnt end well for me. fell in a massive pile of cow shit trying to get up a hill on my way home :/June 13, 2011 at 12:18 pm #1240800@Pike Tom Us 439607 wrote:

June 13, 2011 at 6:32 pm #1240796I like to go to little night club parties these days. There’s a tiny club near mine called Indy Jax and they do specialised nights. You’re always guaranteed a bit of tail being there as well.
June 13, 2011 at 7:45 pm #1240793Difficult one for me to answer, I spent most of the 90’s going to the Exodus parties in and around Luton, I guess minimum attendance would be 3000 max 10,000.
However to a large extent these were local parties for local people and by 4am most of the others had fecked off leaving a Hardcore of friends (maybe 500)that developed over 10 years of partying to really get the job done 😉
So for me the answer is smaller parties of those that know each other but in another way I attended some pretty big raves, and that number of people all kickin off at the same big tune was also something that lives with me still now…the feeling of a shared consciousness of 1000’s pof peopleall vibin on the same tune and beat …..therer is no doubt n my mind this was not un-realated to the use of MDXX but fpor me that does lessen the spiritruaol significance of the experiamce na ndmor e than the couth american tribes using DMT.
The outside parties whereby far the best(mainly in local sand quaries) verged (for me in some ways) on a religious experianace, for me and for others….it might sound cheeesy now but I was and still consider myself an Original Hardcore Disciple..in the what it was meant when the phrase was first used.
:bounce_flJune 13, 2011 at 9:13 pm #1240792I just want parties to go on, big, small, wide, high… just Party ON!
