To find a job in UK?
I don’t care what I’m doing at all, will clean sewers if I have to :yakk::laugh_at:
I’m seriousI know in Denmark ‘we’ say there’s no work, I do believe and have experienced that there are work if you want to work, but you have to be prepared to get dirty or take what there is even if it’s not your dream job

There seems to be work in the paper every week but I dunno how many people apply for each job. Hopefully going to be looking myself in 6 months, bit scary!
April 30, 2010 at 9:34 am #1225348Good luck :group_hug

Am thinking of moving, hard for husband to find work in Denmark because of the language, my english is “very good” and i think me getting work there will be easier but i don’t know
Kids are getting bigger now and they can take the trip themself, very cheap flying from Denmark to UK £ 20-30 on the cheap days
But it is the last way out, we both prefer Denmark to be honest.
April 30, 2010 at 11:50 am #1225347loads of jobs to look after old people in East Anglia (because there are not enough young people any more especially in the villages, they all go to London or the North and in some areas the youngest person is 45-50). Where I work we are always recruiting….
As EU citizens who speak English it will be much easier to get a job
also there might still be jobs in call centres and offices..

I’m sure you don’t want me there :laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:
Have done different things in life
Cleaning, working as chef, webcoding and working with old people so I should be able to look for a bit of everything.
Husband have worked in security and that’s not easy to use in Denmark :crazy_diz
April 30, 2010 at 4:43 pm #1225360I guess it all depends on where in the UK you are thinking of going to Angel, I know some people who are struggling to find work where as others are having no problems. I think the ones who struggle only do so because they are too bone idol to look properly or wont take anything but their dream job
April 30, 2010 at 11:02 pm #1225372as starlaugh saysi think the job opportunities are very different in different areas…
here ,it is (imo) easy to get a job…
but perhaps further in midlands not so easy..

i feel your need for the countryside but i live about 15 mins from regents park, that fills gap along with bi-annual trips to the lake district
May 1, 2010 at 11:14 am #1225353I do know there are beautiful areas there 🙂
We really want to stay in Denmark, but because of his Danish he can’t get a proper job with enough hours a week, that means that he every 3 months will get kicked out of Denmark for a period before he can come home again :hopeless:
Just does my head in
I would live under a rock with him if i had to 😉May 1, 2010 at 11:47 am #1225364@Angel 382241 wrote:

May 1, 2010 at 10:50 pm #1225356Hey honey!! :group_hug
sorry to hear stuff not going your way
If your looking to move over here, I am guessing your recent IT course may be transferable? as it’d be a real shame for you to not utilise those skills that you’ve worked so hard for,
alternativley chiefs are often needed but if you are prepaired to look at care work they are ALWAYS after nursing assistance in private and public settings – and within a range of settings (learning disabilities / mental health / older people)
alternatively it may be worth thinking if there is something else that you have never before thought of persuing and going for it as it may be a whole new opportunity –(be great to meet up and have a beer if you do come over in the coming months )

I feel like this often – try if you have to move to the uk – not to move to suburbia – I live there and its shit
Marcus is moving in with me end of May  but it would be great for us both to live in the midlands but I been looking for a year and there no jobs going for what I do, and for him – he really struggeling at the mo for work- recession seems to have hit his firm bad in recent weeks – so Lundun a better option for us…….
