Anyone got any nice ideas for food that can be cooked on 2 gas stoves in fields? Something nice and yummy, not pot noodle 😉
Went camping a bit last year and found working out what food to cook very hard other than the old BBQ. Any suggestions?

You can cook pretty much anything you want, just take a cool box and some ice packs and fresh meat will be pretty much ok for a weekend. Just try to leave it in the shade.

that looks revolting (and the product description says Brown Rice!):
INSTANT WHITE RICE, SAUCE (NONFAT MILK, MALTODEXTRIN, POTATO STARCH, SALT, TORULA YEAST, VEGETARIAN CHICKEN SOUP BASE [HYDROLYZED SOY PROTEIN, NATURAL FLAVOR, AUTOLYZED YEAST EXTRACT, SOYBEAN OIL, SILICONE DIOXIDE (TO PREVENT CAKING), EXTRACT OF TURMERIC], DEXTROSE, SUGAR, SOY SAUCE [WHEAT, SOYBEANS, SALT, MALTODEXTRIN]), FREEZE-DRIED COOKED CHICKEN, CARROTS, ONIONS, CELERY, PARSLEY, RED AND GREEN BELL PEPPERS.
August 20, 2010 at 11:23 am #1225176for festival food if i actually felt like cooking and eating something. crepes are always a good one. can make the batter before hand and then all youve got to do is chuck some mushrooms, garlic, spinach and cheese in there and maybe some chorizo and you’ve got a proper tasty meal. and easy to eat if your not actually feeling that hungry, but have to eat something, not much chewing involved at all!
