How do you seriously challenge yourself daily?
This could be through, work, family, religion, musically, through writing, or art, or even through cooking.
Do you challenge yourself at all? do you think its alright not to challenge yourself?
Discuss.
February 25, 2010 at 12:25 pm #1223591i try to spend at least a bit of every day doing something creative like making music.
I try to alternate between novels and educational books so i am always learning
I try to masturbate 10 times in one day – gotta keep at that self improvementFebruary 25, 2010 at 12:29 pm #1223545@Iacchus 373853 wrote:

February 25, 2010 at 12:29 pm #1223571I try to think of things that i am not happy about in my life and do something, even if just a step, towards soughting it out.
I wake up in the morning plan my day out in my head and try to achive what it is i have set out to do.February 25, 2010 at 12:31 pm #1223546I do like to think I challenge myself, but at this presice moment I cant think as heads all mushy
I guess reading, my art and painting and defo my family are challenging enough!! :laugh_at:
February 25, 2010 at 12:37 pm #1223578i think i should challenge myself everyday music and intelligence… to me there is nothing else to life, gunna die at some point, might aswell do something i enjoy such as music, and i also think a lot, stretching my limits to try and theorise an answer as to a possible purpose in life, or a way of living that suits me (lengthy complicated theory which i dont want to explain right now)
i seriously challenge myself with classical guitar everyday, i practice hard learning new techniques and producing my own style, as its sort of my passion lol… id like to die on a quiet olive farm with my guitar in my hands (linked up to a fat stack of ASS may i add)
February 25, 2010 at 12:40 pm #1223579i think ‘always learning’ is important for me
February 25, 2010 at 12:41 pm #1223572learning is the key to knowlage and knowlage is the key to life .. 😉
February 25, 2010 at 12:53 pm #1223528A constant challenge is to avoid getting caught up in the frustration of insignificant bullshit
February 25, 2010 at 1:20 pm #1223606I dont challenge myself daily, have got into a terrible rutty mess. I am changing all the time.
People can do what they like as long as they dont hurt others or cost the plant too much

hell yeah
February 25, 2010 at 1:50 pm #1223554At the moment i do not challenge myself. I think this is a bad thing. I am a week away going to S America which will challenge myself no end, from the people I meet, to the things I will do. I think they will challenge my stereotypes, and my prejudices of people (things we all have). I think it will challenge myself through classes of society. I think it will challenge me through faith(scary bus rides, scary people, dangerous situations etc). These all stem from challenging both my inlook and outlook.
February 25, 2010 at 2:57 pm #1223577i challenge myself everyday well almost by spending a couple of hours in the gym and also i come online every day and try to find a way of taking over the world but quite obviously havent found it yet

msut be difficult, since nothing is significant?
is it a challenge to avoid frustration, or avoid insignificance
February 26, 2010 at 12:26 am #1223599On a cosmic level, there isnt much in our lives that has any significance.

i would not hesitate to propose that on any level there is nothing with significance except to those who are ignorant of the world around them, or those snarled up in an narcissistic existence
February 26, 2010 at 1:41 am #1223600We know too little about the universe to be able to understand the significance of anything. Significance is also subjective.
fuck im bored. philosophy ftw
February 26, 2010 at 3:52 am #1223576I try to have a laugh as much as possible, and enjoy family and friends and all the things I enjoy :group_hug

significance as you have suggested is subjective
As far as the universe (unimaginably huge, mostly empty except for clumps of gas) is concerned planet earth is a tiny spec, true. But significance isnt just about what percentage of mass/volume of the universe you take up.
From our perspective we are the only sentient life in the known universe, we have risen to the capability to be able to understand and manipulate the world around us, and if you try to contribute to society then I think you do have a significance.

sorry josh, but i think seeing nothing as significant is extremely ignorant
