How many hours a week do you read on average? I always to through phases, wont pick up a book for a few weeks or months, but then read 3 this week. Trying to watch less crap on TV!

It’s set years back when Rome invaded Britain and it’s a quality read, very graphic and full of detail. there’s 9 books in total as well and i’m on the third one. Awesome book series! 😉

I’m having a crack at Papillion by Henri Charriere at the mo, but the thing is like a fucking breeze block. It’s a true story of prison breaks and adventures that’s been made into a movie (which if I knew before I started reading the thing I would have just watched the film). I’ve just got to the part where he’s knocked up a 12 year old girl.

October 28, 2009 at 8:59 am #1209277I always have at least one or two books on the go , at the moment its is The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester , I Am Legend by Richard Matheson and thirdly Dead Yard by Ian Thomson a look at modern Jamaica and how it has/has not coped with gaining independence from us, fascinating reading!

I haven’t got the patience. I love a bit of Dick me… Philip K Dick that is. Some of his more psychotic books are a bit difficult (dull’n’hard work) but others are inspirational. He wrote the book that turned into Blade Runner don’t you know : ) (Do androids dream of electric sheep). Other films based on his books are Total Recall, Scanner Darkly and Minority Report
Plus, other pulp I like is any book by Robert Rankin, what a STAR!

He’s a Dutch dude who in WWII fought with the Nazi’s in a Penal Regiment – a regiment made up of deserters, bandits, murderers etc. None of the officers wanted anything to do with them cos they couldn’t be trusted. It’s mainly fictional story telling based on true characters and some true events, and the novels are funny as fuck cos of their complete disregard for authority…
