April 1, 2009 at 3:54 pm #1196028I wanna know how much the crime rate has gone up in neighbouring towns and anywhere where police had to get sent to London from.
Hopefully someone who knows what they’re talking about will sate my curiosity in a few days
I noticed on BBC News as well that on the side scrolling bit Barack Obama has his title of ‘President’ before his name but Gordan Brown doesn’t have ‘Prime Minister’, what’s the reasoning for that?
The journalists and anchormen also say ‘President Obama’ and ‘Gordan Brown’.April 1, 2009 at 6:20 pm #1196020I’ve seen some of the pictures and read a few stories i’m now wishing i had gone too.

Quote:A man died last night during the G20 protests in central London as a day that began peacefully ended with police saying bottles were thrown at police medics trying to help him.The man had collapsed within a police cordon set up to contain the crowds who had assembled in central London and the City to protest over the G20 summit. There were 63 arrests on the day.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission was being notified last night. Scotland Yard said the alarm had been raised by a member of the public who spoke to a police officer on a cordon at the junction of Birchin Lane and Cornhill in the City.
He sent two medics through the cordon line and into nearby St Michael’s Alley where they found a man who had stopped breathing.
They called for ambulance support at about 7.30pm and moved him back behind the cordon where they gave him cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
“The officers took the decision to move him as during this time a number of missiles – believed to be bottles – were being thrown at them”, said a police statement. The ambulance service took the man to hospital where he died.
A London ambulance spokesman said: “Our staff immediately took over the treatment of the patient and made extensive efforts to resuscitate him both at the scene and on the way to hospital.”

” police medics trying to help him.” yeah, course they did. funny the NHS medics might have something else to say about that. maybe when the police realised they’d gone too far they called in some medics, claimed they were directly bottled, lets cover our backs eh boys. i have no faith in the police version of this report but sadly believe the real truth will never be known.
April 2, 2009 at 7:13 pm #1196024It’s bollocks, it just goes to show what u can and cant believe on the news and the tabloids.
I went it- was completely peaceful lots of dancing, all kinds of music, people dressed up, there was abit of chanting, basically just good vibes, the police had corden alot of the mini marches from the main march and then aload of aggressive protesters came in from no wehre and loads of people just dispersed.Thats when police came in, split the march to weaken it. Then there was asit down in front of police van THEN the riot police came in like ninjas.
I have some wiiicked vids on my camera from right at the front of the split, it did get quite scary but fuck it, we werent being voilent is was just a few bastard vigiliante youths with scarves over their faces that ruined it, scariest part was that they looked like kids!
The free tibet was a good protest too
April 2, 2009 at 7:16 pm #1196021How long are these protests gonna last for?
