I’m sure if you know East Anglia you will be aware many people start families at a young age and it often means that looking after kids has to take priority…also many other people seem to burn out by their mid 20s…
but the biggest factor is that it all came on top here about 2007 when the rest of society decided they had “had enough” and there were several high profile raids of parties and confiscations of rigs.
Its gone as far as whole rigs being put through industrial shredders in front of TV cameras (with a scrapyard put under Police guard) and several people being arrested, charged, and serving terms of imprisonment, not just for provable actions of violence against cops (such as throwing things) but for merely organising raves (including two lads I know with no previous records of violence whatsoever).
Also every internet forum and social network is watched by the Police, who now view raves as organised crime rather than low level anti-social behaviour.
most effort is now concentrated at legal venues and I think some of the people from the old crews are still involved with these. its the usual places like studio 3, the arena in yarmouth, maybe the Norwich clubs like Media and the UEA…
Parties still occasionally happen and there are still many new crews about in this region but they have to be much more discreet if they want to keep their rigs.
March 29, 2009 at 6:59 pm #1195904its a shame!! i suppose incidents like the bk party in yarmouth havent helped the scene! back i nthe day we had a choice of two or three parties nearly every week
March 29, 2009 at 7:28 pm #1195892in a nutshell, the amount of open defiance of the Police coupled with the cops managing to find links between raves, major drug dealing, “gang” activity and stuff like metal theft/serial burglaries meant they were able to justify using the anti-terrorism/major crimes budget to stop raves….
March 29, 2009 at 7:53 pm #1195905so there are NEVER parties any more??

March 29, 2009 at 9:14 pm #1195906are u guys seriously telling me there arw no parties any more??? surely not…
March 29, 2009 at 9:19 pm #1195893there are some but a lot smaller and low key than previously, and people can’t brag about them on forums such as this like what they used to or the feds start investigating even after the event – I think they have at least two years in which to gather their evidence if they wish…
March 29, 2009 at 9:27 pm #1195907r u with one of the suffolk crews, u seem to know wat u talking about
March 29, 2009 at 9:37 pm #1195894I used to put on events in SE England (mostly around Reading and Outer London) with friends of mine from that area.
I have not been actively involved in organising a rave since late 2005 (I moved to Ipswich in 2006) so have never got involved in putting on parties round this way – but I have attended events in East Anglia in recent times and have met a fair few people from local crews.

its a cycle.. itll come back :group_hugraaa with some care, brians and love, theyll start to accept us.
either that, or we can hijack the media and spread pro-rave propaganda and everyone will like it and nobody will complain.
in an ideal world.April 3, 2009 at 11:03 pm #1195897binge;316423 wrote:Good times. Sat evening in the pub, then off to a BioTech or Bangaz N Gash- then when these wound down off to spend the day at Skan.#Sigh#
