Alas, I can’t play instruments for shit. It’s one of those things I’ve always wanted to get round to but never actually made the time to learn.

Quite fit too 😉

I play keyboards/piano – no vids yet but trust this is proper live tuneage. The piano recorded on the following 2 mixes of new motion (written by myself) was recorded live….

New Motion – Original 1996 oldskool mix

New Motion – 2004 Mix

Most synthwork was done live then looped with filters added.

i used to be able to play the tenner sax about grade 4 but sacked it off when i was 18 and got a pair of decks as all i was really playing was classical stuff and it really didnt interest me. wish id carried it on now, or started to learn diff stuff. I love hearing sax’s in proper funk bands sounds so slick.

Yeah, Sax is one mighty cool instrument. I’m going to buy a guitar soon. Really should make the effort. Anyone have any suggestions or advantages disadvantages of Acoustic and Electric?

I was kindly given a sax, but I’ve never learnt anything more than a few notes. Would love to able to play some modern ska on it.

As for the difference between acoustic and electric guitars, it really depends on why and what you want to play. Personally if I was to get a guitar (which I will when I can spare the money), it’s gonna be an acoustic because I want to play blues and folk type stuff, and nice picky-acoustic mellow music.

The obvious advantage of having an electric is that you can get an amp and play really fucking loud! You also have the further advantage of effects and feedback etc – you can’t play a Steve Vai solo on an acoustic!

An advantage of learning on an acoustic is that the strings are a bit further apart.

I have a bass on which I can play some songs on, mostly Stone Roses and Joy Division, would love to learn how to play it properly though, real funk slap bass solos!
