Well I reckon everyone has the thought now and then. About moving away, starting again so to speak. Well im still young, and can do this fairly easily…
Where do you lot think Is one of the better places to live?
In terms of parties, people, and prices. Not forgetting jobs…
I live In Lincoln now, so wouldn’t really want to move miles away, then again :weee:

August 15, 2008 at 7:31 pm #1177246I like living in Bournemouth, having the sea and the new forest, only 1.5 hours to Bristol and Oxford area. The towns music scene itself is a bit of a poor effort , but there’s not much crime or anything, its pretty laid back. Also we’ve been havin a few more parties lately, and were just getting a reef built which is apparently gonna make it as good as Newquay.

August 16, 2008 at 12:42 pm #1177253i start uni in bournmouth in september and its gonna be the first time iv actually been outside of london for longer than a fortnight i suppose so tis gonna be a big change, london is sketchy as fuck but as far as im concerned its the ebst place to live in london no offence to other place like but london feels like your part of the rest of the world walking down the street with people from 100 differant countrys chatting away in there native tounges around you is pretty cool obviously theres crime n that but its avoidable to an extent and when u egt past that your living in one of the livliest most exicting and modern citys in the world

August 16, 2008 at 1:57 pm #1177241Scotland is pretty quality to live in. Most of the new techy indutries are based up here and the economy is doing alright….in comparison to most of the UK. So its good for work.
You can also drive between most major cities in the time it takes to drive to work in London.

August 16, 2008 at 5:07 pm #1177240I’ve lived in London, Reading and West Berkshire and now East Anglia (curiously, various incidents in my life have always hinted I would end up on the Suffolk/Essex border areas!) , and I’d say that I’m having the best time at this moment!
Ipswich actually has the same multicultural society as London, as does Lowestoft (being port areas this is not surprising) and even in the more rural areas of Suffolk they are no less tolerant of other cultures than in SE England.
There is slightly more tension in Norfolk due to poverty/competition for jobs but even then its not that bad..
OK the party scene has taken a dive for the moment but its clearly through peoples own stupidity and greed, and could easily recover in a couple of years if ravers make an effort to genuinely be part of a “community” instead of just chatting about it..
Bear in mind also that if illegal parties are being overlooked by cops in your area it often means there is shit loads of real crime instead…
Even so the authorities are still tolerating legal events (to the point I see people hundreds of miles away from SE England are making use of the available local venues)
OK its a bit spread out here so without a car it takes me a while to visit my real life friends as the nearest ones can be 10-30 miles away – but its still possible, and there is so much space and peace here…. I can ride my bike without hassle from traffic in many areas, and I see real wildlife I only saw before on TV and films….
