Has anyone seen this film? The hype around it is unbelievable and as I’ve not seen it yet I was hoping someone with some film knowledge could shed some light as to the true quality of this film. What makes me ask is the fact that within 2 days of its release it TOPPED?!?!?!?!? IMDB’s top250 charts, overtaking classics such as Shawshank and The Godfather, and with a fair few number of votes as well.
I’m just wondering how many of these are just people going onto IMDB and rating it 10/10 just because they liked, rather than really properly thinking about and contemplating their reasoning for it.
July 29, 2008 at 3:36 pm #1176905I’ve seen this and thought it was quite a good film. I ain’t gonna lie to ya tho, some bits bored the fuck out of me and i felt that halfway through the plot went a bit mental and confusing. Probably didn’t help that i had drunk 5 pints beforehand and that the cinema we was in had no air conditioning. also that i went for a pee near the end and missed some important shit! :laugh_at:
I say go and see it mate but be warned it is a V long film so have a coffee before! :weee:
July 29, 2008 at 3:53 pm #1176902off to see it tonight :bounce_fl

hehe, I plan on seeing it at some point in the next couple weeks :).I’ll be able to endure the length so long as its a good film 😉 but I just cant see it being better than all the great films its topped in that chart :yakk:

July 29, 2008 at 10:55 pm #1176903errr…. dont want to say anything about the story,
but I give it 7/10,
but Mr Tank gives it 9/10 (and he is the real graphic novel nerd, and I mean that!!)he got stroppy with me and told me I am tired from night shifts and therefore not consentrating when I told him I was bored in bits :laugh_at:but there are some real good and funny bits too,
well worth seeing on the big screen
I prefered the first one, but heath is fantastic in it, but I am bit of a fan of him anyway

Thanks for the info 😉
And not to be cynical but I don’t think anyone is really going to criticise heath ledgers acting when all things are considered. I don’t mean that in a bad way and nor do I think he’s a bad actor, I just think for a critic to openly come out and say they didn’t like his acting would then result in said critic recieving some abuse
August 1, 2008 at 5:53 pm #1176904tbh i prefered batman begins… :shy:

Yeah man i’m with you. I think the Knight is a film that needs to be watched twice. I did prefer Batman Begins tho! 😉
August 4, 2008 at 7:37 pm #1176910I went and saw it last week, its pretty good 🙂 heath ledger steals the movie, bale is ok as batman but he sounds god awful and fake in the bat mask, its laughable. I duno for someone who wasnt that fussed about seeing it i thought it was 7.20 well spent.
Rreeeeaaaallllyyy want to see hellboy 2 when its out 🙂
