doing an event tonight and need a good music visualization program for the new projector. cant find any sound to visual programs for free, but tbh dont know where to start.
is it possible to play music from the decks into a laptop and use the visuals from winamp?? dont know how to run the sound ‘straight through’ the laptop as opposed to playing stuff from the laptop.
any help would be much appriciated cos it would be a shame to not use the projector.
May 16, 2008 at 2:35 pm #1171861if you have winamp than download milkdrop
if you just want syncopated visuals with no effort, that’s your one

May 19, 2008 at 7:02 pm #1171869another vote for milkdrop, it’s the shit.
May 19, 2008 at 7:14 pm #1171860Agreed, milkdrop is good. It’s fairly basic looking at face value but it seems to interpret the music quite well and the visualisations are fairly detailed, complicated and interesting when you really study it. I like AcidSpunk & R4 too.
May 19, 2008 at 10:52 pm #1171866ive got plasmavis, is pretty good and easy to use. ive got milkdrop but already but wanted to know how id run decks thru it. ie str8 from the mixer as opposed to playing from the laptop itself. i dont have an interface for the laptop, only my pc so it would need to be able to run the mic input. ( if possible) i aint lugging my pc and a screen round, fuck that!
May 19, 2008 at 11:25 pm #1171862line out from your mixer to your laptop. should be that simple

ill give it a go later on tho.
January 27, 2012 at 9:52 am #1171873You can try the interactive music visualization program (real-time) on the site
By my experience it works by any displaying music on computer.
The program is development of synesthesia interactive visualization program (real time) which up to 2006 year had best search position as music visualization. Now I renewed to work with it and present some results on a.m. site.

Good Day
Yuri VilenkinNovember 1, 2012 at 2:26 pm #1171875Looks promising Yuri. Thank you.
Actually interactive audio-to-video synaethesia programs are not new (first example I am aware of dates from 1984) but quite frankly the old stuff will not work on a modern PC so it is not at all practical.
Perhaps one day I will put together an old school rig again – I haven’t down any of that for over 12 years.

Although this is a really old topic i do know how to do what you are asking. I dont have winamp on the laptop im using though and can’t quite remeber the process. You have to type something into the open location tab irc. I’ll find out what it is and get back to you as this may be helpfull for others.
