thought id put this in here as i didnt want everyone seeing it. but this girl i knew through parties died of an overdose after staying up the next day after a party. Apparently she overdosed on Fentanyl
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fentanyl
Ive never heard of it before. just makes you think that maybe everybody should be a bit more carefull when staying up caining it for days on end. i didnt know her that well. still pretty shocked tho.
May 7, 2008 at 1:32 pm #1161820fentanyl is fucking nasty stuff! it is what the spetznaz (Soviet/Russian élite forces) used to “liberate” the hostages during the cinema siege, they used too much and and killed more hostages than the terrorists.
worse still this was most likely to have been robbed of a terminal cancer patient as NHS try to avoid its use for anything else, it is too dangerous..

May 7, 2008 at 1:35 pm #1161831Jesus sorry to hear bout that mate. That’s the trouble with drugs, do too many and this is the result. Thoughts go out to her family.
I’ve never heard of this stuff before but looking at it on Wiki, looks well dodgy.

sadly this is always a risk at the “sketchy afterparty” moments, people’s reserves are down and they want to prolong the buzz and try more stuff
fentanyl and its derivatives are just lethal though. They are rarely used recreationally because they are so risky,
worse is immobilon (the vets version, even stronger) – and its possible this stuff may have been robbed out of a vet
if a deer is darted with it they have to tag it with a biblical-sounding “EAT NOT” ear tag as the residues in the meat would be hazardous to humans

its literally one of those drugs where you pass out and don’t wake up again, often used as a suicide drug in foreign countries where human euthanasia is permitted
if this happened amongst clubbers/ravers I’d also expect the feds to start keeping a close watch on the “party drugs scenes as when its someones “little princess” they tend to go into “anti drugs crusade” mode :hopeless:

thats why i posted it in here as the last thing the free party scene needs is another death assosiated with ‘illegal raves’ The media would absolutly love this story if they got hold of it. she wasnt some little girl tho, i think she was in her late 30’s… i feel really bad for the guy that found her. dont think my head could cope with that. Also the cops are charging him wth supply, which i thought was particularily caring of them!

for many normal people licensed clubs and illegal raves are viewed as the same moral cesspool.

I just hope it doesnt come out that she was at a party that evening.
either way its a shit situation what ever way you look at it:hopeless:May 7, 2008 at 9:08 pm #1219818General Lighting wrote:they will (not from here as you used your brains, but maybe just via the coroners press office or even leaks from NHS) but just as a generic “toll of drugs culture” thing probably linked with pubs/clubs/binge drinkingobviously i hope it doesnt even make the news as any attention is going to be horrible for all those involved, but theres a big difference between a headline about a overdose at home or the one which could read as ‘girl overdoses on smack after illegal rave!’ headline tho. so if anything it will only get a passing mention in local media, but these sorts of incidents do get monitored by the NHS and the cops and it will eventually shape enforcement and surveillance of the “drugs scene” in that area
I remember you mentioning how you used to live round this way (Suffolk)
I was doing a bit of digging and found that as early as 2003/04 the DAAT was keeping a close watch on how people were moving from the “rave scene” to the “habitual usage” patterns
they had lists of every overdose/addiction case, not names but numbers, set out across each NHS and police region – this was what led to such heavy clampdowns in our county, even on licensed clubs. Its near impossible to do any dance event in Ipswich or Stow without cops sticking their nose in now…

from my experience its not just the rave scene that like their drugs round that area, but pretty much everyone. I suppose thats what you get when you live in a total shit hole in the arse end of nowhere with nothing much to do.
Im sure where you live is lovely tho:wink:May 7, 2008 at 9:25 pm #1219820General Lighting wrote:if the family are lucky only the DAAT (drugs and alcohol action team) will get info on the case minus the nameso if anything it will only get a passing mention in local media, but these sorts of incidents do get monitored by the NHS and the cops and it will eventually shape enforcement and surveillance of the “drugs scene” in that area
