March 26, 2008 at 5:41 pm #1159045no. They would have only got them somewhere else anyway. If you had given a cigarette to somebody who had never smoked then it would be a different story imo

March 26, 2008 at 5:50 pm #1159020I think its a £80 fine
Then again when I was in sixth form I worked on the cigarette kiosk at Tescos, paid for my records and booze/partying (this was in 1989-1990 when cigs could be sold by those only 16 and upwards)
Sold thousands of fags and cigars, kilos of snout. Woodbines and Senior Service High tar (banned today I think), Pipe tobacco what old men who thought they was salty old seadogs smoked (but they were toffs who just had a boat moored up at Henley on Thames)
I bet as I reached my twenties, many of those customers eventually died in slow agony in the Royal Berkshire hospital, coughing up blood and phlegm (but at least they had paid for their NHS costs there as the tobacco was all legit)
I probably killed more people than if I was a psycho with a gun and ammunition, or a smack/crack dealer. And I made money doing so and built up my own independence. Yet I was not seen as a criminal but a young man showing his skill and trustworthiness (never nicked a single thing from there) and contributing to UK PLC.

If a random off the street asks me i always tell that as a police officer, I am not allowed to and if i catch anyone doing so ill throw them in the paddywagon and beat seven colours of shit out of em. Bit out of order but i love seeing their reactions! :weee::crazy::cry:
