January 19, 2008 at 8:56 pm #1152461my reasons.
- line up will be wank.
- its only on fri till sun.
- you cant turn up on thu and settle in
- the festival site closes and u have to be on the campsite till the fetsival site then opens again at 10am. where u then get re-searched.
- they have sniffer dogs patrolling the campsite.
- the festival finishes on sun 8pm(?) and u cant stay on site till mon, which means that there is lots of drink drivers who are then pulled and tested as soon as they get out of the gates.
- the festival pretty much seems to be a excerise by the police in how to arrest as many people as possible
- and finally its a shit overpriced festival.
if i go to any festivals this year its gonna be glade, bloom and shambala.

January 19, 2008 at 9:17 pm #1152456I wouldn’t go to a “rave substitute” festival of these out of principle
these commercial festivals IMO are a substitute for proper free parties and an admission that when we had the chance we fucked it up and now all thats left is to accept the demands of the nanny state
at least the “yoghurt weaver” style festivals have a lot more freedom and a better ethos about them.
I still don’t like the idea of paying £60 or more knowing a lot of it goes straight to the Police and pays for their anti-drugs enforcement both at the event and beyond. I know its the law but they get money from my Council Tax anyway.
I would have attended Eastern Haze had it not been for the weather though.
