hi, tis my first post here, are there any good parties on new years, i REALLY do not want to spend ALL of new years eve wondering around looking.. again
can someone IM or post some local brighton numbers or tell me of a half decient party that isn’t damn hip hop and minimal electro

Wellcome to the forum but as this is your first post and no one can at this point vouch for you I think it very unlikely that anyone will give you details of free partys. If you go to a club where free party people hang out I think you will find what your looking for. It shouldnt be that hard in Brighton.

December 30, 2007 at 2:37 pm #1127840these days if a pub gets a reputation for being a “ravers pub” the cops put in the sniffer dogs and CID – it can then get closed down for “permitting drugs use on the premises”, thats why you don’t hear of them as much any more
TBH you are way luckier than people in many areas, at least your council still tolerates late night legal venues, loads of other areas have zero tolerance to any dance music events now.
the reason people are wary about giving info is we have had journalists and nosey locals/councillors trying to get info about free parties which they then pass on to the Police, as well as constant monitoring by the Police who have a whole team devoted to watching these sorts of forums.
The days of info about illegal parties being blatantly put on the internet are long gone, there has been too much of a backlash for that to happen anymore. You are better off TBH going to a legal event in your area and befriending the local party people in person, at least there is more chance to gain trust that way.

Try the Cowley club on London rd thats an alternitive cafe and book shop, it used to be a bar/members club as well. Though when I went in with a mate the other day I’m sure they thought we was undercover cops the way we was dressed lol
I’ve got alot of mates down that end but I’m out of touch. Theres a pub on the hill just by the bridge next to the station canny mind its name where they used to go. Try picking up some flyers in a record shop…I’m one of the less paranoid people but what GL says is pretty correct.
