yeah around 3 foot long, grass snake i believe, my cat was going for it … i have a video of that somewhere 🙂

looks like a grass snake to me (harmless). Fairly common in West Berks/S Oxon/Reading area.

My old cat in Reading never bothered with them as this was too much effort but practiced his snake-catching on telecom and network cables (took my home network down twice as well in the process)

I would be more concerned over creatures in the garden centre as often stuff comes in on foreign plants..

Dunno about where D-A works but in some of the places round here its around now that houseplants get brought in all year round for Christmas presents – these plants come in from all over the world..
