      OK, if I was to start slagging everyone off and sending abusive PMs to the moderators… What would you be able to do to bar me?

      This is a purely hypothetical question, at least for this site.

      I had my user ID revoked, I appealed and they told me that as they hadn’t barred my email or IP I could re-register under a new name but if they had any more complaints about my posts they would block me from the site.

      OK…
      New hotmail address, about 1 minute.
      New static IP address, about 2 minutes, if you’re on a dial up connection just re-connect.

      If I really wanted to get onto a site, and they really wanted to block me, could they?

        No, not really.

        They can IP ban you, but a proxy can solve this, or a different IP. The e-mail banning is easily solved.

        A lot of trolls on other sites just keep on having to be banned. But realistically, forum bans are a piece of piss to get around.

            Cool. That was what I was hoping to hear.
            I don’t intent to piss them off so much that they do want bar me from the site but I didn’t like the threat from the admin peeps.
            I just wanted to check my facts before I replied.
