i’m stuck between glade and antiworld. i have no experience of either so i’m at a loss really.

you could put it as simply

glade – mostly psy based but other genres present not all electronic

antiworld – loads of psy and other genres

they both attract different crowds

every antiworld party ive been to has been spot on, ermm glade for me is just a 15 min drive or bus away so it gets my vote because i can pop home for a shower which on a hot day and after a evening of stompin is sister bliss.

still not sure if im gonna go i dnt like psy that much, but kss are supposed to be hosting a techno stage, and herd many other london tings that are gonna be there, well worth the money and im sure the vibe will be gr8 and hopefully as it isn’t as well know there wnt be sucha hugh security presence as at glade

was stewarding with oxfam at glade last year so got in for nowt. was placed in ID Spiral which was great but noticed security were being a bit heavy handed with some people like searching random people and their bags etc. saw few people bein driven off site 🙁
spoils the atmosphere of the festival.

well i had been in work for like 10 hours on the sat, when i finished, called me mate and said ”can you pick me up and drop me off at glade”, im known for my blags and tried everything when i got there, some nearly worked but eventually i had to resort to fence jumping again, theres a little place unknown to most where you can walk into the festival untouched, needs timing, stupidity and no ket on the walk there like last time haha

and yeah the guy with dreads was a legend and ive been meaning to thank him … basically, he asked me about my wristband (of course i didnt have one and he knew this from the off) some security guys saw he was talking to me and came over to ask what was going on, he knew id get kicked out without a doubt and probably driven far off site and maybe even have a few cheeky digs in the stomach so he just said

”he’s lost it and his ticket so im going up with him to get another from HQ”

they left and said ”ok alright”

fucking legend he has my ultimate respect raaa

we didnt get the wristband btw, but he saved my ass

was he in ID Spiral? All the stewards were great def more friendlier than the security

some girl gave me a loada K, just after taking some security guys approached and asked how we where, with my sleeves down, i pretended to be asleep this was at like 6 am so there arent a load of people around so security approach those unlucky enough to seem awake haha

unfortunately as well as there being plenty of people in security firms who enjoy “knocking about a few hippies” (legal) festies are full of CID who check to see if the security are being overly lax with regard to drugs, and then report back to the licensing committee if this is so

OTOH if these undercover cops see searches and ejections they go away happy as “anti-drugs licensing conditions are being complied with”

there has never been real acceptance of festivals in this country (the excessive ticket prices are a sign of this as the councils grudgingly only accept them if they can maybe make a bit of money)

did you know that many councils treat dealing with a festival under the “area major incident protocol” – which is the same protocol used for dealing with terrorist attacks, civil disturbances and environmental disasters?
