‘ello!
What about me, eh?
Okay, I’m from California originally, but I have immigrated to England.
In the UK I’ve visited England (of course), Wales, and Scotland.
I thought Scotland was breathtakingly beautiful and stunning.I’m addicted to travel and have been throughout America, Italy, Mexico, Jamaica, etc
My favorite places on earth are San Francisco, Honolulu, London, Venice, Chichen Itza, and New York City.
I LOVE old skool. I adore Detroit/Minimal Techno, Madchester, and all that. I try to compose music with knock off versions of the TB-303 and
SH-101. I am still learning how music actually works though, so I’m kinda’ rough, but always improving (hopefully).I tend to be insanely open and loving and friendly, and I’m generally a bit loony. I don’t really feel that I fit into any subculture or any pre-defined box. But that doesn’t bother me, cause I just get on with being me.
I don’t like rambling on and on about myself, but I do like questions.
So if anyone is curious or interested in anything, I’ll babble back an answer.
Lovely to find this forum!!!
December 5, 2006 at 12:18 am #1095780Hiya Vibration,
Welcome to partvibe and thanks for letting us know a bit about you. You are a lucky thing being able to travel that much.

yeah it’s mostly ’cause I’m deeply irresponsible with money! 🙂
I spend all my money travelling and partying and being an irresponsible weirdo.
December 5, 2006 at 12:35 am #1095781Irresponisble for what or to whom? Yourself?
You will look back and see that you used your time well and enjoyed yourself and experienced things. Surely that’s what it’s about and if that’s being irresponsible then this isn’t a badger doing rock horns: raaa
Unless you are somehow hurting others by what you do?
December 5, 2006 at 12:40 am #1095800WOW!!
4 messages into my intro and we’re already stumbling onto Mill’s Harm Principle – THIS IS MY KINDA’ PLACE!
Yeah I agree, if something makes someone happy without hurting someone else then that thing is good and amazing.

I was definitely going to go to Baraka. I’ve heard some killer things about it from friends who have gone.
My next port of call is Bangface in London this Friday.

*smile*December 6, 2006 at 1:41 pm #1095788Anonymoushow are you finding oxford? its definitely a diverse city. the town centre drives me nuts cos of ll the tourists and poncy students toffing it up, but cowley road area is lovely. actually feels like people live there and like it!
and its dead easy to leave, thank god, as the train links are great.
missing home much?

I’m from a city of 2.5 million people, so Oxford feels so…twee and tiny
in comparison.Though buildings made out of stone is kinda’ trippy!
Even brick weirds me out actually.Quote:its definitely a diverse city. the town centre drives me nuts cos of ll the tourists and poncy students toffing it up,Yeah you need to find the hidden away local places.
I live near the train station.
It’s just convenient.
That’s about the only thing that comes to mind about it.Quote:but cowley road area is lovely. actually feels like people live there and like it!Yeah Cowley Road is as alive and chaotic as Oxford gets.
The Zodiac isn’t bad, but it could be a lot better.Quote:and its dead easy to leave, thank god, as the train links are great.Yes indeedy!
I can easily get to wherever I want to go.
Which is a nice change from gridlock traffic jam California, where you
have to drive everywhere which means you can never get properly wasted.God bless public transport! My enabler!
Quote:missing home much?I miss the sun when it gets dark at 3:30pm!
But to be honest, California is a Catch-22.
Sure you get nice weather all year round, but you’ll only enjoy it from
the comfort of your cubicle as your boss yells at you.
My last employer in California told me he was very generous, AND HE WAS,
because he gave me 11 days off a year, when most places only give you 10.Oh and the 10 is just some fictional thing on paper for legal reasons.
If you try to actually TAKE ten days off a year in an American company
you’ll be looked at like a traitor who doesn’t love the company enough. When I heard I’d be getting 30 frickin’ days off a year in my job in
Oxford I just flipped out!!I was beaming for months!!
This may be a cold, damp, dark twisted place — but at least I get to
enjoy it!!I guess mostly I miss my old friends.
But they are coming to visit me soon, so it will be like old times. So wazzup with you?

Even brick weirds me out actually.I should imagine it would be similar for me if I was to spend any time in houses made out of wood.
How long have you been here again? It’s definitely not nice when it gets so dark in the winter but we enjoy fairly long daylight hours in the summer.
December 7, 2006 at 1:22 am #1095794if you like the cowley road, then get yourself down the bully, (bullingdon arms) but you prbably know that any way. raaa An look out for a band called june that sometimes play down that way.
December 7, 2006 at 1:42 pm #1095815To be in Oxford, that is. My all-time favourite band are from there, yip, Radiohead, man, what I would give..oh, I already said I’d give my eye teeth..
Mind you, sunny South Africa ain’t so bad…although it does have less of a scene than I’d like..but we try, my mates and I, to throw the odd belter.
You’ve got to, y’know? Can’t laze about, hell no. -
