This has been bugging me for a while.
http://board.soundclick.com/viewtopic.php?t=188476
This is a tune just posted today. I was curious as to what genre it falls into as ive been told so many, Im looking to send copies off and would like to know what sort of labels to go for.
feedback appreciated very muchly :bounce_fl
November 15, 2006 at 2:47 am #1094202Don’t know what they call it these days but it sounds like Acid Trance from a few years back 97-2000 a la Choci, DDR, Geezer etc.
I suppose these days it would be called psy trance or hard trance. It’s always a bugger to label music because I don’t like to do it but I know it’s necessary.
November 15, 2006 at 2:48 am #1094203…oh and I forgot to add: Not a bad track mate. 😉

People should listen to music for what it is. Not with pre conceptions as to what genre its lumped with. You always overhear some bloke wittering on about this new East coast Doomgabba side tek…and one persons techno is another mans trance. its so silly. Yet nessisary for alot of reasons :crazy_diz
Glad you have enjoyed it though…cheers for the feedback raaa
November 15, 2006 at 4:37 pm #1094208Top Tune – I’d call it Tekno…but who am I to judge.
My genres consist of Hardcore Jungle Tekno, as I reckon that covers it all. However, selling or pushing music means you gotta be more defined.
hey ho.

its annoying but true… alot of people feel more comfortable being able to catorgarise everything.
Im kinda happy in a way that it is hard to decide what genre this track is.

theres got to be an acid twist :groucho:
Other people are saying that its not a proper techno beat and is more acid trance….
genres genres genres :good_evil
November 15, 2006 at 7:36 pm #1094204I’d call it technoy psy-trance, mainly because the beat doesn’t change.
Damn good tune though dude.
I quite like discussing the different things that make one style of music different from another. But I also think that you should try and mash as many different styles together when mixing or producing.
