since I moved here I’ve noticed that pigeons seem considerably fatter than any others I have seen elsewhere in this country.
They waddle like ducks and are almost as fat as hens – one I saw today (I was approaching it very slowly on my bike as I wanted to get a good look at it) was so large it took a good few seconds to take off when it eventually noticed me..
I thought it was a few particularly large specimens but they all seem to be about the same size.
is this an East Anglia thing (perhaps I am actually observing wood pigeons as opposed to the rock pigeon?)
