I don’t think I will pass because I haven’t had my head in the book enough, any tips though?

        tips?

don’t get stoned before hand :crazy_dru

and just take it easy and try and stay relaxed

i passed mine first time without much practice, but then i’d been a roaduser for 13 years before hand, on bicycles and motorbikes, so i had a fairly good knowledge already

        good luck

Remember that if things go wrong, take a deep breath and do not panic.
So many people fail because something small happens and they go all to pot.

TO BE HONEST, THE THEROY TEST ISNT ANY THING TO WORRY ABOUT, WHEN I DONE MINE I HAD BEEN OUT THE NITE BEFORE AS IT WAS A FRIDAY AND I WAS STILL STEAMING DRUNK WHEN I TOOK IT. PASSED FIRST TIME, ONLY JUST THOUGH, 30 OUT OF 35 AND 59 OUT OF 75.

TRY AND STAY ON A STRAIGHT HEAD ITLL MAKE THINGS EASIER.

GOOD LUCK AND HOPE YOU PASS.

                              PEACE

Just read the questions more than once as the questions are worded in a way that can confuse you. :question_

I passed my theory test the first time only getting 1 wrong and was about towing a caravan!! I was like for gods sake i cant even drive yet why would I know about what you use to tow a bloody caravan! :head_bang

Honestly you have plenty of time in the test just stay calm and read the questions carefully before answering them as they may be ambiguous! :you_crazy Also dont start to stress if people get up and leave before you they are the ones that are more likely to fail from being big headed and thinking they know it all. 😎

I was told this by my dad before I sat the test and listened as he is a driving instructor!! Having said that I still have not passed my actual test … who needs to when you live in the city centre and have an Acidfairy as a chauffeur!!!

                                GOOD LUCK xxx

I basically got exactly the same except got 58 on hazard perception.

Its true what people say, the questions are basically comon sense but they do throw in some that can catch you out, and then theres the braking distances n all that bollox!

Hazard perception is about concentration n always thinking what could possibly happen and when, also be quick to click when its just blatent (Trucks parked near junctions, wobbly cyclists, people stepping out ETC) but not to click to many times!

                                  Good luckraaa

sorry to hear you failed – I’ve still got to re-take my test also.. and because I didn’t do the theory test when I failed last time got to do that as well. That said I definitely wasn’t ready and had wholly the wrong attitude towards others on the road – cars bring out a nasty aggressive streak in me and its only now as I am older that I can just about keep this down.

TBH I would say though that having a driving licence merely means you can be “unfree in a more remote place” and carries stacks of other responsibilities; being responsible for passengers/others safety, costs of fuel, MOT/insurance and other hassles, traffic cops on your case (if you drive to/from raves your “card is marked”), environmental impact etc. (Of course I didn’t give a flying fuck about any of this 15 years ago; and had I scraped through on that driving test I reckon I would either be dead now or in HMP)

I can understand what NIGHT-NURSE is getting at though as sadly the streets are not very safe – so for girls/women (and a lot of blokes as well although they are too “macho” to admit it!) the safety of a car does give a lot of perceived empowerment.

On this note its also interesting how in recent times many outdoor raves attract people who choose to stay in their cars for the bulk of the event; and it “ain’t just ketamine” as that stuff’s been around for years!

OTOH A lot of girls/women I have spoken to are wary to cycle at weekends or evenings because they get harrasment (I’ve heard nightmare stories as well about girls being groped by scum in passing cars and then pushed off their bikes onto the asphalt when they complain – these are rare (and its not just girls who get attacked on their bikes!) but they tend to stick in peoples minds)

drivers/potential drivers – keep a close eye on this though..

It’s just as I’ve got older I’ve also got wiser and realised the world (well where I live) ain’t always that nice and reflecting at some of the risky stuff I did as a (usually smashed) younger lady in reference to walking or cycling home alone late at night (along alleys, parks and cemetreys)…….. it isn’t something I relish doing now that I have realised I am not invincable!!
I still don’t like getting public transport home alone at night
(even taxi’s) but obviously I do accept this as I like to drink!!!

However I wholey agree that my percieved freedom is at a cost to the environment and is a huge responsibility.

………and it’s also the comments that are cringe worthy, when cycling that has put me off to some degree….. not inventive some of them!
