Still its my birthday this weekend, gonna get messy outdoors.
June 20, 2006 at 12:25 pm #1079593It’s even worse when you know about before it happens but you’ve got a stinking cold and can’t go out.
That’s what happened to me this weekend.
June 20, 2006 at 1:24 pm #1079595Or when you travel to another party for like 8 hours then it gets pigged an a phatty happens within 20minutes of your house.
June 20, 2006 at 1:31 pm #1079600but its great when u come home from a big old rave, c a load of cars parked up 15mins from your house stop an find aonther rave going down:horay:
that was a phat day
June 20, 2006 at 1:38 pm #1079597Or you know of one nearby and have to work and feel too guilty to phone in ‘sick’…:bitter: (NFA sat)
June 20, 2006 at 1:50 pm #1079590I was round a squat once where someone had a scanner radio (this was years ago before cops got airwave digital sets) and we heard cops talking about a rave
then they read out the grid reference and I realised it was only a few miles away from where I lived
unfortunately the cops roadblocked it so I could only get there in the morning and it was finishing just as I cycled up there..
When I lived in Reading I didn’t even need to blag a lift to parties; I could just ride my bike to them (best of all cops/nimbys never said anything as people go cycling at all sorts of odd hours especially if they are training for long distance rides)
Or you know of one nearby and have to work and feel too guilty to phone in ‘sick’…:bitter: (NFA sat)
nah thats really good of you and principled (particularly after discussing your career on a public forum)
I worked in the public sector for 4 years and made it a point of principle never to call in sick because of rave-related activities (I had only 10 sick days across 4 whole years and they were genuine illnesses, not just tiredness/sketchiness and feeling rough)
Also “Frank” may not talk directly to us but he sits in the corner and listens intently if you get what I mean…

my previous employers were really good though; they were happy to give me mondays off/long weekends etc at fairly short notice – although I did make sure that (despite what appears to be a heavy level of Internet use) I always met deadlines wherever possible and often managed to complete projects ahead of schedule…
June 20, 2006 at 2:16 pm #1079599Thats one reason I love working shifts still as If I’m organised and aware of events in time I can usually swop or get A/L etc
June 20, 2006 at 2:52 pm #1079602buggar, still annoyed bout this.
June 20, 2006 at 3:54 pm #1079589It’s also really annoying when it’s your birthday weekend and all your mates piss off to the Smokescreen party without you when you could have played at a club in Bedford that was using my name for the night (krankenhaus) and also could have gone to the multi rigger afterwards.
June 21, 2006 at 10:53 am #1079596Was a really good party too 😛
