Where it says “xx unread posts”, click on it. It will take you to a list of new posts since you last looked. These posts are spread across all the forums and are public posts, not private.
It’s just a handy way for people to check on new posts in topics without having to trawl through each forum and check which threads have been updated.
if you mean the link where it says “nn unread posts since your last visit”, sometimes unfortunately the number is wrong (it may show one or two more posts than actually exist).
This happens due to a software bug which we are currently trying to fix.
You can also click on the link marked “Active Topics” at the top centre of the bar just above the forum name (in this case “Chat”) that shows a list of all the threads which have had recent postings…
