do you have any people from your local area you would consider to be heroes (or heroines?)
here are mine…
From SE London:
Mica Paris – great voice and still going even after she was hit by family tragedy (her brother was shot dead in gang violence)
From Reading:
Chris Tarrant – (at least until he started doing millionaire) – when he first started in the media was genuinely funny and with a very anarchic sense of humour, he did stuff on kids TV that would get presenters sacked/arrested nowadays, and his early Capital radio shows were hilarious. TBH I’ve probably only gone off him a bit because I don’t like the ethos of millionaire (a highly paid broadcaster using psychological warfare tactics to put people off winning the money) , as a person he is still supposed to be a really decent chap (turns up in Reading every so often as he has family there).
Ricky Gervais – comedy genius. Every joke he makes about the Thames Valley is spot on as well..
I suppose its a bit ironic that someone who comes up with all the serious stuff picks two comedians/jokers as heroes….

The Darkness
Hyper On Experience
EZ Rollers
Peshay
Flytronix
PFM
That guy from Lock Stock, Snatch, Transporter etc

(I’ve heard mixed stories about him – apparently he’s OK and give money to homeleth – sorry, homeless people etc but others say he’s a bit arrogant and misogynistic).
Certainly I can see how he became a boxer, as he acts in a fashion that is bound to make people want to punch him…
