i hope you’re all havin a phat one…
shaz-bar-tay!
June 17, 2005 at 10:30 pm #1066102Did you look out of the window today? Sunshine is free dude! Only reason i’m stuck in here is I got an exam in the morning, and I’m really good at procrastinating!
June 17, 2005 at 10:32 pm #1066103Come to think of it, do you want to PM me some info about tomorrow’s party dude? I will definitely need to wind down a bit tomorrow night…..
June 17, 2005 at 10:47 pm #1066121Anonymousi will tomorrow, when i have it 😉 the crew are bein a bit tight lipped about the whole thing, tbh…
yer, sunshine is free, i was out in the garden all day trimmin and dancin and postin and devil stickin, was lursh…
but all my mates are down the pub, and ive sponged enough drinks recently :/
good luck tomorrow morn – what kind of an exam happens on a saturday?
June 17, 2005 at 10:52 pm #1066115I can identify with ya USE man, goin out to a rave in my favourite location in Edinburgh tomorrow night, and I had the opportunity to either go to Dogma (one of the premier techno nights in the burgh) or UTI (again, a very good club, having a free night this evening) but I’m staying in to save myself for tomorrow night. Just guna chill with some choons and some ganj, followed by a good night’s sleep, then a nice healthy picnic tomorrow afternoon should set me in good stead. 🙂
June 17, 2005 at 11:03 pm #1066122Anonymousat least you have a spliff, mate, im sober as a judge.
theres something intrinsicly wrong with that on a saturday night.
i cant quite be arsed to do summat constructive, tho.
sort of stuck in limbo.
June 17, 2005 at 11:10 pm #1066116Tis only friday tis it not? Unless I’ve missed a day again…
Got my exam results back today and it turns out I’ve passed all my courses so that’s me finished first year of uni! Fuckin’ yas! I thought I’d be bored off my ass today, but went into town and ended up playing a bit of basketball, then picked up a Q, went out for a chinese meal, and here I am now.
One complaint though is that despite it being warm, it’s been terribly cloudy up here, meaning a very muggy and humid afternoon (not at all nice to play basketball in!)
June 17, 2005 at 11:17 pm #1066123Anonymousyep, its fri today, i cant stop thinkin bout tomorrow!
well played on the uni tip, what course u on? nice to know youve got it sorted…
i got my b-ball out recently, its such good fun, but well knackering. have a few peeps who are up for it, which is nice, im missin all the exercise i got in bristol.. i cycled to brighton thinkin it was six miles when it was 13 the other day, it was a lush ride tho, so i didnt realise till i got back home. i beat my mates car on the way back too, coz of the traffic.
June 17, 2005 at 11:24 pm #1066117My actual degree at the moment is in Geography at Aberdeen uni, but to make up enough credits to pass into second year you need to take another 2 subjects, so I do Sociology and Anthropology too. Kinda handy, as I’ve realised that geography’s actually shite and I’m planning on changing my degree to Sociology and taking Anthropology with it next year (well that’s the plan at the moment anyhoo).
June 17, 2005 at 11:42 pm #1066124Anonymousgeography is a bit middle of the road. sociology’s a bit general imo, but anthropology sounds wicked. my lady did archaeology at newcastle, and that was dead interesting. a lot of blagging involved tho…
its so easy to choose the wrong course, i totally did and ended up dropping out. no degree, but all the debts 😀
good luck swappin mate, i hope its the right choice 😉

June 17, 2005 at 11:54 pm #1066125Anonymousnot for art courses…
i had clashes with my tutors, because as it turned out, the course had been made with an agenda to rejuvenate the more trad printin techniques, which i wasn’t aware of. the were not up for graff and vjing being counted as “proper art” fucking cunts.
id rather be an artist with my integrity and no degree, than a graduate who sold his integrity for a bit of paper.
its totally put me off education now. kinda.
i think im just gonna go for some short courses in specific things where you cant get ripped off. events management and health and safety fra start…
June 18, 2005 at 9:40 am #1066104Environmental science exams happen on a sat!
2nd yr too! I’ve got Biodiversity at 2.
All good though, i’m in the lucky 10% of students who fucking LOVE their course!

funilly enuff this happened to me as well
it was 1991
the tutors didn’t see any value in my early experiments with multimedia, and considered my use of the Internet to be criminal hacking (this was just accessing newsgroups (the forerunners to message boards) and sending email, at no point did I deliberately attempt to disrupt the college networks)
they even threatened to have me done for computer crime if I didn’t withdraw from that course…
June 19, 2005 at 9:22 am #1066105Did you get to a party in the end USE?
Did i miss u at the Woodingdean one, or was there something else on………….
June 19, 2005 at 10:08 am #1066114well binge, you ain’t missin much this way.. can’t even raise a crew for a wabblywick beach mission this morning……
V is for vega, init!
June 19, 2005 at 3:54 pm #1066106Shame. Sweet little party down here- just 5 minutes taxi ride from my house- out in the downs. They ran out of credit, and were unable to change the partyline, so just word of mouth. Which actually made it pretty chilled. First time i’ve heard some decent tekno down here as well!
As its such a beaut of a day (and i’ve slept for a few hours!) I’m gonna head down to the beach for a BBQ and a pint!
Enjoy the sun people!

June 20, 2005 at 12:27 pm #1066126Anonymousi ended up goin to a student freeparty in a campus carpark, which was a good laugh, but i was a bit fucked and got on the mic, which is always slightly embarasing…no one seemed to care, so it was all good…
i couldnt get hold of the other party…was it nice, binge?
June 20, 2005 at 1:32 pm #1066107I heard about the carpark party. Apparantly they had permission for it! How long did it go on for?
The party in Woodingdean was a beaut. Right at the top of the downs, you could see the whole of brighton spread out before you + the sea in the distance. In fact, if you climbed the hill behind that car park, + walked through the trees, you would have seen the other party on top of the downs, I could certainly see campus.
Good tekno/ Jungle and Dub as well. Heard some proper acid tekno in the morning as well, which is rare for round here……..
June 20, 2005 at 1:35 pm #1066108USE. Have just Pm’d you my number- just in case you get stuck looking for a party again.
Easy now.

im pretty sure there was no permish for the party – it started at 11 afaik, but the security didnt give a shit, and they didnt want bad press, so they just let us get on with it. apparently the sites been used a fair bit recently, but its the end of term now, so its a bit harder to blag from now on…nice setup to know about tho…
i cannae beleive i bastard missed that ting in t’ woods…..its gettin to be a habit now, cheers for ur number, im sure it’ll come in handy;)
there was meant to be a cafe and a live stage- did they get it sorted? i did have an immense weekend, tho so im not that bothered bout missing the do (yer, right, just keep tellin myself that ::) )
June 20, 2005 at 7:23 pm #1066109If it was in the car park, then I think they had an aggreement with the sercurity (Basically end of term so they don’t give a fuck!)- Although some of us have still got two exams to do!
We did do a protest party a few months back on the site- protesting against the car park being built. We started at 11am on a wed and stopped the builders from working all day. Was good fun, and we also made the front cover of the newpaper! Got voted the best party of the year at the union awards!
Don’t worry about gettin on the mic! At the last party I had a mix after three bottles of wine and a couple of pills! That was pretty embarrassing!
Shame about the hill though…. East Slope used to be a beautiful grassy slope. Would’nt know it now.
There was no live stage at the party- just a couple of tekno rigs, jungle rig, and a dub rig. Was bloody brill though, shame I didn’t have me camera.
June 20, 2005 at 7:36 pm #1066128Anonymousthat protest party sound phat mate, would love to do somethin like that, takin the rig somewhere to make a point, and have a phat one.blinding.
to be honest i doubt i would have made it to the other party if i tried. i was ridin in someone elses taxi and was skint mashup. i even managed to pass out (or power nap as i was trying to blag) for a half hour behind the dex. i hadnt eaten all day but a bowl of meusli and 2 bits of toast.
are you back norfolk way now binge? or you hangin about for the summer?
June 20, 2005 at 7:44 pm #1066110I’m having a few adventures after finishing on fri- Basically france/glade Egypt, but have to be back in Brighton to start my dissertation in Sept. If you’re still around, we should hook up- I need to sort out some proper raviong buddies, as normally I have to persuade coursemate to drive. They love it, but don’t have the staying power!
