Description and Information:
A superb 6 pointed "web" design ringed formation in wheat was reported on August 6th at a location about 2 miles east from the Wayland Smithy and White Horse Hill formations of July 7th. Again the design was situated about 100 yards south of the Ridgeway path as with the earlier pair.
Access from Blowingstone Hill by walking about 200 yards west along the Ridgeway and climb over a long metal gate. The farmer, Mr Nash, has placed an honesty box at the entry point to the field and only wishes to recover the cost of lost wheat. SU321 862.
The flat location at the top of the escarpment makes ground photography difficult. However the site is well worth a visit. (Air shots aplenty on www.cropcircleconnector.com . The approx. diameter is 330ft and the CW outer ring measures 6-7 ft across. There around 130 lozenge components inside the central feature with complex flow arrangements between each standing piece.
This is the 6th oxfordshire formation of 2006 and maintains the increasing high standard in the area. We have no records of any earlier crop circles at Blowingstone Hill.
